Telecoms Asset Management from MIT
This product was developed for a large PBX manufacturer to enhance their Managed Service.
Overview.
It creates a full system audit broken down by Cabinet, Shelf, Slot, Card, Firmware, identifying Handsets, Trunks, Digital Devices via a web browser interface.
Each scan can be saved and used to identify changes between any two scans.
An Upgrade report identifies the minimum hardware requirements within the PABX for any future software upgrade.
Maintainers.
Our telecoms Asset Manager saves time and expense - the usual method of performing this type of audit is to send an engineer out to each customer site - in our clients case, over 2500 sites need to be visited 4 times per year taking up to 1000 man-days!
The information provided can be used in several ways.
Full site documentation of a PABX, along with capacity reports. Comparative reports for the purposes of evaluating maintenance costs for managed service of a site.
Disaster recovery - the asset capture provides a complete record of the core PABX programming down to card level.
ARS in a visible and logical tree format.
End users. Asset Manager enables users who maintain their own equipment to manage their system more effectively.
- Enables users who have their equipment maintained by a third-party to check that the maintainer is correctly calculating their charges.
- Provides detailed Auditing for accounts purposes.
- Enables diagnosis of random PABX firmware issues.
